Ghosts

My dad has given me his old Canon digital SLR which is beyond great because it gives me the chance to post more regularly and it gives me the opportunity to experiment with new types of photography. However, I've got to say I'm already uninspired by the digital side of things. I just don't get the same rush I do when I snap something with an analogue. Being able to see the photo straight away and delete it straight away stops the picture being precious. Everything seems disposable and there's no spontaneity, no surprise at the way things turn out. There's always a focus on making things perfect. For me, it takes away everything I love about photography.
Anyway, enough moaning about something that is really quite wonderful. I'm now staying at my grandparents' cottage in Dorset, which is impossibly beautiful but today was grey so I couldn't really do a proper shoot. I took some pictures of my brother and sister swimming which turned out all ghostly and ethereal, which I loved. They are quite sinister, especially because you can't see their faces.

  1. I love these! (and I almost like the fact that they look nude--it adds to it!)
